Rafting in Bali is a fantastic way to add adventure to your beach holiday, experience thrilling emotions, and discover the island's untouched wild nature from the inside. Fully flowing mountain rivers, exciting rapids, waterfalls hidden deep in the jungle, and breathtaking panoramas await you.
The descent is absolutely safe and suitable for participants of all ages and fitness levels — from beginners and families with children to extreme adventure seekers. All trips are guided by certified, highly experienced river guides on strong inflatable rafts. The price fully includes professional gear, insurance, hot showers with towels, and a delicious lunch after the finish.
Three unique routes to choose from:
- Ayung River — a gentle and scenic descent near Ubud. The route passes by steep cliffs with ancient hand-carved stone reliefs, beautiful waterfalls, and wild monkeys in the tree canopy. The rapids here are mild, making this trip perfect for families with small kids.
- Telaga Waja River — the most active, longest, and spectacular route in eastern Bali, running along the foot of majestic Mount Agung. A rapid, crystal-clear river with numerous Class III rapids and a thrilling, controlled raft drop from a 4-meter dam will give you maximum excitement and stunning panoramic views.
- Bakas River — a dynamic and thrilling descent through a narrow canyon. Numerous rapids and sharp turns surrounded by dense wild jungle for active adventure lovers.
The rafting season runs year-round, although during the wet season (November to March), rivers become faster and the rapids increase by one class difficulty.

What to BringEquip
- A change of dry clothes and dry underwear (you will get fully wet during the rafting);
- Comfortable water footwear (sandals with secure heel straps or water shoes). If you don't have suitable shoes, they can be rented on-site before the start;
- Swimwear (we recommend putting it on under your clothes beforehand);
- High-SPF sunscreen (shoulders and knees burn easily on the water);
- Cash in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) for drinks or buying photos taken during the trip;
- Waterproof phone case or an action camera with secure mounts.

- Rafting trips run daily in any weather (during rain, the river flows even faster and more dynamically, adding excitement);
- Transfer: on the Telaga Waja River both a group transfer (already included in the price) and a private transfer are available. On the Ayung and Bakas rivers only a private transfer is available. A private transfer is a separate car for 1–5 people round-trip with an English-speaking or Russian-speaking driver;
- Every raft is accompanied by a professional certified guide who steers the raft and ensures your complete safety;
- Before embarking, all participants undergo a mandatory safety briefing and wear certified gear: life jackets and helmets;
- Valuable belongings and documents can be left in a safe box at the start base or in the vehicle's trunk — the car will be waiting for you at the finish line;
- A 50% deposit is required to book; the balance is paid on the day of the tour in cash (USD or IDR) or by card (3% fee). If you travel to the rafting in your own vehicle, full payment is made the day before the tour.

- refunds are processed with a 10% deduction if the cancellation is made by the client at least 48 hours before the event;
- refunds are based on the exchange rate set by the Bank of Indonesia on the payment date;
- full refunds are provided if the provider is unable to deliver the service fully;
- refund requests are reviewed within 5 business days of the request date;
- refunds are issued within 5 banking days from the agreement of the refund decision.
Frequently asked questions
Travel medical insurance is strongly recommended: treatment at private clinics is paid up front for foreigners and serious cases can need costly evacuation. Choose a policy with medical cover and emergency evacuation/repatriation. If you plan to rent a scooter, check that motorbike accidents are covered — many policies exclude them, and cover usually applies only if you hold the correct licence. Add adventure cover (volcano trekking, diving) if those are on your itinerary. We don't endorse specific products — compare and choose your own.
Your shoulders and knees must be covered, and a sarong (a length of cloth) is tied around the waist over your clothes with a sash — this is required at every Balinese temple. The sarong and sash are usually handed out at the entrance or included in the tour, so you don't need to buy them separately. Light, breathable clothing works best: a short-sleeved top with long shorts or trousers. By local custom, women who are menstruating are asked not to enter the temple grounds.
Ubud sits inland, about **60–90 minutes** by car from Denpasar airport and the southern resorts, with almost no public transport. From Kuta, Seminyak or Canggu take a taxi, a transfer or a car with a driver for the day; Grab and Gojek work in Ubud, though some spots have local-driver restrictions.
Ubud is a town and district in the Gianyar regency, known as Bali's cultural center: temples, art museums, craft villages, rice fields and routes into central Bali. It is not a beach resort but a place about culture, nature and a slower rhythm.
