Tibumana (Air Terjun Tibumana) is a quiet waterfall in the jungle of Bangli regency: an even curtain of water about 20 meters high drops into a round, greenery-ringed pool. It sits by Apuan village, just 15 kilometers from Ubud, yet stays far less crowded than the island's headline waterfalls.

Why Visit

This is one of the best waterfalls near Ubud for a relaxed swim: the water at the edges of the pool is calm and cool, the descent is short and easy, and crowds are usually thin. Tibumana suits families and anyone who wants an atmospheric waterfall without the effort.

In the rainy season the flow strengthens and a second stream breaks out beside the main one — for a while the waterfall becomes a "twin."

The Waterfall

A short, built-up trail through the jungle and over a small bridge leads to the water — the descent takes 5–10 minutes. At the bottom you step into a snug green amphitheater: sheer walls, fe s, and an even curtain falling into the pool. The current is stronger directly under the main flow, so it's best to swim nearer the edge.

There's parking at the entrance, simple warung cafes, toilets, and changing rooms, so it's easy to swim and change.

When to Visit and What to Know

  • Best time — early mo ing: soft light in the gorge and fewer people.
  • Swimming — bring a swimsuit and towel; stay near the edge of the pool, as the current is stronger under the main flow.
  • Footwear — the rocks by the water are slippery, so shoes with grip help.
  • Tickets — there's a paid entrance to the grounds; bring cash.

Combine Your Trip

Tibumana pairs well with the other waterfalls of central Bali. Just next door, upstream on the same creek, hides the Pengibul cascade, while the same part of the island holds the cave waterfall Tukad Cepung and the photogenic Kanto Lampo. Ubud is about half an hour away.
